Data transfer tab

The data transfer tab is for transferring raw datasets (i.e., datasets with listmode files) from a remote machine to the host machine (the computer on which the offline GUI is running). The remote machine will most likely be the scanner.

To select one or more datasets to be transferred, perform the following steps.

  1. Click on the ``Data transfer'' tab.

  2. Update the value in the ``Time range in days'' window, if desired. This is the time range in days going back from the present time to look for new datasets on the remote machine. This will fetch a list of datasets with timestamps within the given time range. Note: The first time this button is clicked after restarting the GUI, the user will need to enter the password for the remote system. This is the password for the daq account.

A few seconds after clicking on the ``Check for data'' button, the table in the bottom half of the Data transfer panel will be populated with the datasets that exist on the remote machine within the given time range.

  3. In the candidate datasets table on the bottom half of the Data transfer tab, click on the datasets that are to be transferred to the host machine. One or more datasets can be selected. Click on the first dataset by left clicking on the table row of the desired dataset. After clicking on the first dataset, use shift + left click or ctrl + left click to select additional datasets.

  4. When all of the desired datasets have been selected, click on the ``Transfer data'' button to start the transfer.

  5. When one or all transfers have finished, ``Import series'' on the Patient browser panel will need to be clicked to import the newly transferred data.

Datasets should not be transferred from the scanner while an acquisition is underway. When a data transfer is in progress or is in the queue to be transferred, the remote system will be monitored for acquisitions. If an acquisition is in progress, any transfers will be paused until the acquisition has finished.

The status of the remote system with respect to acquisitions is shown in the Remote system status box on the data transfer panel.
